Perez Hilton continues to try to defuse the media furore he created by posting a picture on his Twitter account that suggested teen pop star Miley Cyrus had been photographed without wearing underwear. The acid-tongued Gossip Guy now insists the 17-year-old was wearing panties in other pictures from that day, but strayed from the subject as to whether or not you could see her pubic area in the specific picture he posted to millions of his Twitter followers. The angry gay blogger better hope the authorities show him a little more mercy than his advertisers.

Word on The Curb has it that the Perez (whose real name is Mario Lavandeira) is losing mayjah moolah over the scandal, which some legal analysts deem serious enough to warrant kiddie porn charges against the previously portly pundit pervert.

This week, ABC Daytime yanked a rotating banner ad promoting The View from PerezHilton.com — a site which averages 260 million page views a month and racks in thousands of dollars in daily ad revenue — Hollywood spies squeal to MSNBC’s The Scoop. There are also unconfirmed reports that MTV has pulled advertisements for its TV Land network from Perez’s infamous blog and effectively refused to conduct any further business with the site.

“It’s not a matter of whether you like him (Lavandeira) or not, it has to do with the morality of the issue. Miley is a minor, period. There are ethics involved in running an ad on a site that potentially violated the rights of a minor, and that is what the conversation is about at the network level,” an informant remarks.

Child porn is child porn, and illegal is illegal. It doesn’t matter who you are, if anything, he should have a harsher punishment because it was premeditated, he was full aware of her age, and did it to hurt her career and public image.
