On people criticizing his looks and not his music
“It’s funny — the thing that I hear the least is ‘Drake makes bad music.’ People always have something to say about the way I look or the way I dress. People nitpick at my physical appearance more than my music, which is fine with me because when I look in the mirror, I know I’m not an unattractive person

Megan Fox Understands People’s Perception Of Her

Megan Fox insists she would never complain about receiving more attention for her looks than her work as she has not yet given “any reason” to win praise for her movies.

She said: “I’m totally aware that I’ve never given anyone a reason to praise me for my acting talents.
“So to sit here and complain, ‘Why don’t people recognize me as an actress?’ would be outrageous.”

“I could never be one of those actors who reads everything that is ever written about them. That doesn’t work with my personality. I’d be a complete lunatic, probably drug-addled and out of my mind. Instead, I stay in and ignore it.”

Chelsea talks Looks

After the JONAS interview, I thought I’d see what Miss Chelsea has been doing lately and I found this great interview posted on ChelseaStaubfan.com

Do you care about the way you look?

Chelsea Staub: Sure. I think everyone does… no matter what age they are or whether they’re male or female.

Do you feel pressured by the media to look good?

Yes, probably so.

Do you think it’s the media’s fault that there are so many girls and boys out there who feel insecure about their looks?

I think it does add to it. Especially when a lot of images are manipulated to make people appear more perfect than they are.

Will you ever consider plastic surgery just because the media or someone tells you, you need to change something about yourself?

I wouldn’t do it for the media or anyone else, only if it was something I felt strongly about.

Do you think positive role models, like you, can change something about the situation right now?

I think there are little things I can do to make a difference. For instance, I have a “freckle” in my eye. It’s just a little brown spot in the white of my eye and when I have photos taken, everyone always wants to “touch it up” and remove it from the photo. I always fight to leave it in because if you meet me in person, it’s there! I don’t mind the imperfections and I would hope that if other kids see me with “that thing in my eye”… it might affect someone who has a birthmark or a mole or freckles or something that they feel insecure about, feel a little more confident because I did it. I also get a lot of compliments about my wardrobe and I don’t spend a lot of money on it at all. I’ve seen girls that have on several thousand dollar dresses and still don’t look that great. I’ve been in red carpet situations where I’ve had on a thirty dollar dress that got more attention than those that had expensive stylists. Don’t let it be about the price tag. Just wear what you like and what looks good on you, no matter what it costs.

Do you want to make a change for people who feel bad about their selves because of all the ‘perfect’ stars? By saying that no one is perfect or everyone is beautiful? Because honestly, I think people like me need people like you saying that everyone is beautiful in a way.

No one is perfect and I truly believe everyone is beautiful. I love the differences in people! How boring would it be if we all looked the same? I love different skin tones and hair textures. I love different shaped eyes and noses and lips. I love when people have their own sense of style… whether it’s preppy or emo or vintage. There’s nothing more attractive than a person who is comfortable in their own skin.

Have you ever felt bad about the way you look because someone told you so?

Absolutely! Especially during the early teen years. I remember wanting to look like certain popular girls, or movie stars, or magazine models and I just couldn’t seem to achieve it. I wasted a lot of hours/days/weeks/months feeling insecure and trying to achieve perfection, when I should have been out enjoying life and doing something fun with my friends!!

Do you think that there is something like a ‘beauty ideal’ and if you think it exists, what do you think it might be? Or who do you think it might be?

What’s beautiful to one person, might not be beautiful to another. For example, I think Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey are both gorgeous… but they are completely different and each are beautiful in their own way.

Is it difficult to look good always, because if you don’t than magazines will write things about you? Or do you think it isn’t important for you what magazines write about your looks?

I am aware of it, particularly now that I am being approached by fans or having photos taken of me without my knowledge. It is harder to just throw on sweats and run out the door for a quick errand. I don’t think anyone likes to look horrible in photos and have people make fun of you.

Do you think that people always will feel pressured by the media and other people to look good or do you think it will go away?

I think it’s human instinct for people to want to look good. Even animals have natural things they do to appeal to the opposite sex. I don’t think that will ever go away.

Everyone’s beautiful in their own way I think Chelsea speaks better on esteem than Tyra Banks does. Maybe she should look into positive body image for young girls through Disney? I think it would be a great opportunity!
