On leaving The Hills: “The show started out very aspirational,” she said. “But by the time I left, it was becoming something else, and I knew it was the right time to walk away.”
On marriage: “The only camera at my wedding will be my parents’ camcorder,” she said. “It’ll be a home video. Just for us.”
Lauren Conrad says she’s planning on penning a spinoff of her L.A. Candy novels.
“I’m going to take Madison from the book and do a darker series,” she told me the other night the Hills finale party. “I already wrote a little bit and it was really fun.”
L.A. Candy focuses on Jane Roberts, a young woman who moves to Hollywood, gets a job with an events planner and eventually lands her own reality show. Like Conrad, Jane isn’t always happy with her fame and the attention it brings. (FYI: She just completed writing third installment of the Candy trilogy).
“I think it would be really fun to do it the other way, with someone who loves it,” Conrad explained. “Someone who loves the fame and plays that game well.”
The movie adaptation of her LA Candy series is in the very early stages of development.
After six seasons, the sun is finally setting on MTV’s once-polarizing reality soap, The Hills. And we hear a familiar face is coming back to celebrate the end of the series — although not in the way fans originally thought.
Lauren Conrad, former Hills protagonist-turned best-selling novelist, will make an appearance on the series finale of the reality show scheduled to air later this month.
MTV has confirmed that LC will hobnob with her former “Hillsies” on the finale’s “After Show,” which will find her alongside her with other former cast members like Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Kristin Cavallari, and Heidi Montag.
The final episode of The Hills airs Tuesday, July 13 @ 10PM on MTV.
Lauren Conrad (with her adorable photogenic dog, Chloe) launched the new website for the designer. Complete with a journal, media and more, there’s no need to miss the star on The Hills as fans can get their fix anytime online.
The Hills star Lauren Conrad is encouraging her teen fans to drink more milk to look good in a new US ad campaign.
The TV reality star-turned-author will reportedly become the latest star to appear in a “Got Milk?” ad later this year and she revealed that she wants her fans to help her design it.
She said: ‘I attend lots of high-profile events, so it’s important to me to always look and feel my best. I know it’s about making good choices regularly, like eating a well-balanced diet and drinking plenty of milk.”
She added: ‘Milk’s mine of essential nutrients are my beauty secret for healthy, glowing skin and strong teeth, hair and nails.’
Teenagers have been asked to vote on which style of milk moustache style the reality star should wear – “California Girl” or “Night Out”.

Lauren Conrad dished to Glamour Magazine her favorite spring Do’s & Do Not trends.
On Knee Socks: Ooh. I love them in an editorial look. When I think knee socks I always go to that Sex and the City scene where Carrie wore them with a heel, which looked amazing but I’ve tried to do it and I can’t. I think if it peeks out of a tall boot, like a riding boot, it works, but generally it’s hard to pull off.
The lingerie-inspired trend: That’s a Do! I love that trend. It’s about finding the lingerie inspired pieces, rather than wearing actually lingerie. And it’s about layering–you want one piece in there, whether it’s a cami or just some small lace detail on another piece. You don’t want to show too much, but I think it’s so feminine.
Double Denim; AKA the “Texas Tuxedo”? Don’t. I can’t do denim on denim. There are usually one or two trends a season I just don’t get and this one of them. It’s a hard look to class up.
Watercolor Prints? DO! I love watercolor prints. I think they’re very romantic and kind of timeless. I almost did too much of it with this collection. When we were shopping for prints with Kohl’s everything I picked was watercolor and floral. They’re very in because of the whole Alice in Wonderland thing.
Trend of the season so far, hot pants? Um…I love them in editorial. YSL just did one that looks fabulous on a model but I don’t think they’re something you can wear every day. I’d say try it as a bathing suit bottom instead. You can’t wear them to the club, because you’re going to look like one of the dancers, but they could look cute on the beach!
