Drake has achieved many achievements both in acting (Degrassi) and music. There is one thing however, Drake has yet to gain, his high school diploma.
In a recent interview with NOW Toronto, the Canadian admits school, not music or acting, will be the focus of his summer.
Drake admits, “I’m actually spending my summer graduating high school. That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left and I’m really excited about that.”

Nicki Minaj was interviewed by Rap-Up and discussed her Twitter announcement with fellow rapper, Drake, that the pair married. She said that she and Drake are not actually married, but were simply causing some mischief.
“Drake is just my little brother, and I kid with him all the time, that’s all,” she said. “We were just being crazy, and I think we were a little bit bored…we were just being mischievous…every day, I see things written about me that aren’t true. I kind of wanted to give the blogs a little bit of payback and put my own story out.”
On people criticizing his looks and not his music
“It’s funny — the thing that I hear the least is ‘Drake makes bad music.’ People always have something to say about the way I look or the way I dress. People nitpick at my physical appearance more than my music, which is fine with me because when I look in the mirror, I know I’m not an unattractive person“
Still fresh on the Billboard charts, Drake is already back in the studio recording his sophomore album. Can’t wait to hear the new music!
That Drake just can’t catch a break!
A second free concert in New York City featuring the somewhat-nerdy hip-hopster has been canned after New York City Police and Parks Department officials grew concerned over the sizable crowd the event would have likely attracted to Manhattan’s Central Park.
Drake’s first free show in NY was scheduled to take place at South Street Seaport on June 15, the same day his album Thank Me Later debuted. The event — which was sponsored by Paper Magazine and co-starred ’90s boy band Hanson — was shut down at the last minute after the estimated crowd of 25,000 began riot.
While scheduled to perform for Good Morning America, planners ultimately had to scrap the Drake idea for fear that it would turn into a security issue again. Simply addressing the change, the concert planners stated: “We were interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked. The cast of Green Day’s Broadway musical ‘American Idiot’ will play ‘Good Morning America’ on July 16 instead,” an ABC spokesperson told The Daily News Thursday.

From Associate Content: The Recording Academy changed the eligibility requirements for Best New Artist.
Previously, the academy ruled that artists were not eligible for Best New Artist if they had ever received a Grammy nomination in any category. Though at first it seems reasonable, the rule limits many artists from competing in this category.
Last year, Lady Gaga fans were surprised to find out that the singer was unable to compete given her single, “Just Dance” was nominated the previous year. The incident helped the academy realize the flaw and the need for change. As Yahoo stated, “Grammy rules dictated that artists could be considered for Best New Artist only when they released a full album. But when those artists finally did release their debut albums, they weren’t eligible for Best New Artist because they had previously received Grammy nominations in other categories.”
Therefore in response, Neil Portnow, the president and chief executive of the Recording Academy spoke on the change, admitting to Sify, “Every year we diligently examine our awards process to ensure that it remains relevant within the current musical landscape.”
This issue was revisited and changed for the awards which allows Drake and Kid Cudi to compete, when otherwise they would not have been allowed to. This category will feature: Susan Boyle, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, and B.o.B.
While the important Best New Artist category did provide more leeway, certain artists such as Lady Gaga are not able to compete given The next Grammy Awards will take place on February 13, 2011.
Canadian rapper Drake aka Aubrey Graham is putting his family before his work.
The 23-year-old, who was spotted arriving in his hometown of Toronto yesterday, says he will be spending the next two weeks at home while his mother Sandi undergoes surgery – He has cancelled some appearances around the world to be with her.
“I want to be at her side. Nothing is more important. My mom is sick. So that scares me a lot. She’s been the most supportive person I’ve ever had in my life… The only person that loves me unconditionally, really.”
Keep Sandi in your prayers!
