Disney used to have all of the hit television shows for tweens and teens, however with many of the Disney cast family growing up and going to college and other shows simply ending, ex. Hannah Montana, is Nickelodeon taking over Disney’s usual viewers?

Nickelodeon topped its main competition this past Saturday night with a ‘Heat Wave’ theme premiering 4 new episodes. The Top 2 shows of the night were megahit iCarly and newcomer Victorious. Victorious was the night’s highest-rated show, just edging out iCarly’s ratings which were also high.

On Sunday night, the repeat of Victorious beat a new episode of JONAS LA. The Victorious repeat scored over 60% higher ratings than the new JONAS LA in the key demographic.

With higher ratings by 60%, and appealing to having more “real-life” episodes, do you think Nickelodeon is becoming the new Disney for teen show success?
