Not all fans of this franchise have the magic power to fully enjoy The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
One of the new theme park’s attractions, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, requires that the safety devices click three times in order for a person to enjoy the ride. For heavier riders, this may pose a major problem as they could be denied access.
Universal says they’re enforcing this regulation “to ensure the safety of our guests. It’s #1.” We get that, but should they have thought of an alternative to alienating people before completing this ride? Getting turned away from Forbidden Journey would be a bummer, but not everyone is viewing that as a bad thing.
Banks Lee, who is 6’2″ and slightly over 300 pounds, only made it to two clicks. Now he’s launched a blog titled Banks Lee and the Three Clicks: My Journey to Fit on an Enchanted Bench, and viewers can follow his new healthy lifestyle plan that will hopefully lead him to that coveted (and necessary!) third click.
The weight issue has proven to be a problem for many riders in the short time the attraction has been open, as a recent study shows that the average american male weights 195 pounds, causing many males who weight just 15-20 pounds more than the American average to not be able to ride.
