Glee’s Lea Michele has been cast as the voice of Dorothy in a 3D animated adaptation of the 1939 cinema classic The Wizard of Oz!
The film — titled Dorothy of Oz — is based on the writings of children’s author Roger S. Baum, great-grandson of Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum and will include a musical score written by rocker Bryan Adams, Variety dished Friday.
The velvet-voiced Broadway alum rounds out an all-star cast, which will feature Dan Aykroyd in the role of the Scarecrow, Kelsey Grammer as The Tin Man, and James Belushi taking over duties as The Cowardly Lion.
The movie is slated for release in 2012.
