Last night, 13.5 million viewers tuned in to the series finale of ABC’s award winning drama, LOST

The show, written by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Huse, premiered September 2004 with the first episode bringing in 18.6 viewers. The decline in viewers has since been attributed to DVR Ratings, LOST being the most recorded TV show.

One of our own SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES was lucky enough to attend Jimmy Kimmel’s taping of “Aloha to LOST” last night, which guest starred the actors playing Jack Sheppard, Kate Austen, John Locke, Ben Linus, Richard Alpert, and many more. Even die hard fans such as singer Marilyn Manson and comedian Andy Milonakis came to the taping!

The special event began with watching the season finale before it aired on television, with breaks to use the restroom and gobble up some catered Sprinkles Cupcakes. After a few good laughs, many tears, and unanswered questions finally being answered (sort of), the cast was brought out for a very entertaining interview with Jimmy Kimmel himself.

The night ended with a pizza party, and raffle with gifts including Dharma Initiative outfits, DVDs of the show, and wonderful one of a kind pieces of art work.

The highly anticipated end of the series left many feeling content, and some with more unanswered questions. However, the best part about the final episode was that it was left for open interpretation so it’s followers could discuss and discover their own answers based on their beliefs. And for those of you who just want to know, “DID THEY GET OFF THE ISLAND?”, well you’ll just have to find out for yourself!
