Justin Bieber Kicks Off Tour With High-Flying Stunts

Justin Bieber fans have been waiting for his summer tour, and it has finally arrived. Kicking off in Hartford, Bieber stopped at nothing less than spectacular to provide a great show. MTV wrote on what his first concert on this My World 2 Tour was like. It seems well worth the money!

Lights went down, glow sticks went up and lots and lots of screaming commenced as a clip of Justin Bieber playing video games plays flashed above the stage, before the teen dream finally appeared in person. Dressed in all-white, the teen idol showed off some karate moves, whipping the crowds into a frenzy as he opened with “Love Me.” Little did they know that a few high kicks would be the least of his stunts on Wednesday, the opening night of his My World 2.0 summer tour.

Bieber made his way to center stage to sing “Bigger.” He demonstrated his pop-and-lock skills before asking the crowd, “What’s up? We do it all for you guys!”

He then slowed it down a bit, using his sugary-sweet R&B-tinged voice for “U Smile.” For “Runaway Love” he did some chair choreography reminiscent of the Backstreet Boys’ “As Long as You Love Me” video.

“I’m feeling real good, how about you all?” he asked. “I see a lot of beautiful girls out there.” In order to see those ladies better, Bieber broke out his acoustic guitar as he sat in a heart-shaped cage that was lifted above the crowd. He played “Never Let You Go” while suspended in the air, followed by “Favorite Girl.”

He then got to what has become a favorite moment in his shows. “The one thing I do when I get to every city is find one less lonely girl,” he told the room before bringing a lucky fan onto the stage, giving her roses and singing “One Less Lonely Girl.”

For his next stunt, during “Somebody to Love,” Bieber and his dancers took to the air and Bieber pretended to climb the side of a building and spray-paint it.

He slowed down the pace a bit for “Overboard,” which features opening act Jessica Jarrell. The girls went crazy when they held hands for part of it. He asked the ladies, “Isn’t she amazing? You guys are amazing.”

After leaving the stage, Bieber came out again and treated the crowd to “Up” as he descended from the ceiling in a cage. Following a break, he performed “One Time” and “That Should Be Me.” He even sat down at the drums for “Walk This Way.”

Then Sean Kingston joined Bieber onstage for their party-ready collabo, “Eenie Meenie.” “Down to Earth” was the last song of the set. But to no one’s surprise, Bieber returned for an encore.

“I couldn’t just leave you guys,” he said, before singing “With You” a cappella. Then he gave the girls what they wanted: “Baby.”

At the very end, mentor Usher showed up, said a quick “hi” to the fans and retreated backstage. Bieber soon followed and the night came to a close.

What song are you dying to see Justin Bieber sing live? Talk about it in the comments.

Jonas Brothers World Tour Camp Rock 2 Tour Not Selling Well

It seems as though not only did the last Jonas Brothers album do poorly, but their concert ticket sales for their upcoming world tour are not selling well either. Could it be that the Jonas Brothers craze is finally settling down?

The last album the brothers put out, ‘Lines, Vines, and Trying Times’ was released to poor reviews and even worse sales, bringing in less than a quarter million album sales the first week.  Youngest brother, Nick Jonas, brought in even worse sales for his solo album, with 80,000 purchases. After their 3D movie fail, and two unsuccessful albums, it was inevitable and no surprise that their tour sales would go down as well.

After playing free shows for any fans that would show up in major cities, the Jonas took on a new world tour in promotion for their upcoming Disney film, Camp Rock 2. Sharing the stage with their co-star, Demi Lovato, the world tour sounded promising, but quickly proved otherwise.

Within three weeks of tickets being on sale, all of their concert tickets stopped selling the seats with service fees, a move the Jonas said, to help all of their fans afford the show. With thousands of open seats still available despite the change and lower price, tickets are still open, and not bought.

No word on what will happen if a majority of tickets are still un-sold at the time of the performance, but one thing is for sure, the Jonas Brothers are no longer at the height of their careers.

Live Nation is eliminating service fees for reserved and lawn seats purchased in June for shows at its 50 amphitheaters. Live Nation CEO said: ‘This is every show in every amphitheater. Basically, our entire summer inventory.’ About 60% of fans said dropped fees were the deciding factor in purchasing.

Jonas Brothers are offering fee-free tickets to their tour and promoting with a fanclub show Wednesday in Washington. Nick said: ‘With the tough economy, my brothers and I wanted to do something. We have a close relationship with our fans, and this is one way to help them out.

Growing up our family financial situation wasn’t that great, and we’d have to refrain from going to concerts.’ Kevin Jonas Sr., added: ‘I’ll speak as a dad. It can be difficult to buy one ticket, much less three or four. When you eliminate any fees, it makes it much more possible.’
