Lady Gaga has revealed she got to where she is today without a single handout from the bank of mum and dad.
Instead the eccentric pop star said she juggled part-time jobs to fund her fledgling career in the music business. She told the Daily Mail that despite finding it hard to make ends meet, she still wanted to do it for herself.
‘When I decided I wanted to be a performer I knew it was a path I would have to carve out on my own,’ she said.
‘It wasn’t what my parents wanted, but they supported me in my wishes. I took no money from them. I moved out of home into a tiny apartment in New York. I took jobs waitress, working in burlesque clubs, waiting in bars … It was tough and it was exciting and it was non-stop, and it was all my own journey.’
But the Bad Romance singer said it was the struggle that gave her the strong work ethic that she has today. She added: “It gave me a feeling that there was something honorable about doing it all myself with no handouts.
‘If you want something really badly you have to be prepared to put yourself through anything, work your backside off and never stop.’

Miley Cyrus moved up quite a bit in this years Forbes Top Earning Celebrities list as the seventeen year old brought in $48 million dollars last year alone.
She’s the teen star behind Disney’s lucrative Hannah Montana franchise that has now matured into a serious entertainment draw, averaging a nightly gross box office of $1.2 million across 57 tour dates. A starring role in the movie The Last Song, heavy radio play for her hit “Party in the U.S.A.” and her cut from all of those Disney shirts with her face on them add up to a large bump over her earnings from last year.
Miley Cyrus came in at #13, just one spot behind Taylor Swift who made $3 million less, but ranked higher given her copyright infringement issues are still pending.

Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 made $110.3 million in it’s opening weekend and shows no signs of slowing down.
In it’s second week of release, the family friendly film about play toys has brought in a total of $226.6 million, more making it bring in an extra $6.6 million in the second week. Such a statistic is not common with blockbuster films, however with another family film not coming out for a few weeks, it seems as though Toy Story 3 may be holding onto its rein a little bit longer.
Despite poor reviews, the girls are back and better than ever…at least at the box office.
Sex & The City 2 brought in $17.5 million alone on Thursday, including $3 million in midnight showings and is set to bring in over $75+ million over this holiday weekend.
The original film brought in $25 million opening weekend, and therefore, even while off-air, the girls fame keeps growing.

Even though the mega pop star has appeared on American Idol two years ago with a live performance of “Just Dance” ”Poker Face”, Lady Gaga began to make her own demands for her second time around.
When American Idol approached the outrageous singer, she demanded a paycheck of $250,000 to appear on the hit Fox show.Producers of the show hesitated to pay her that amount of money.
“They thought it was just crazy she was asking for so much money,” a source tells OK! “It was just too much money to pay talent for a performance.”
But American Idol producers have patched up things with Lady Gaga, because the attention-getting singer taped her performance for next week’s American Idol Top 5 Results Show.
The singer performed a dash of “Bad Romance” on the piano, and will then break into her current hit “Alejandro.”
“Lady Gaga will make some jaws hit the ground as she wears a black thong with a revealing black fishnet bodysuit,” an eyewitness tells OK! “It’s a typical provocative costume, but it’s a little shocking.”
Her costume is a black fishnet bodysuit with black sequined accents, which is rather jaw-dropping. It looks to have been handmade. But typical sky-high footgear were a bit much as she almost took a hard tumble during the taping. But she barely missed the fall, and the show went on.
Lady Gaga even uses blood in this performance, which was very reminiscent of her performance of “Paparazzi” on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Unlike other past performers on AI, Lady Gaga’s stage is rather elaborate, which is pretty dark, full of smoke to create mystery, and danger. The singer — who never manages to not shock audiences — has near-naked homoerotic male dancers supporting her throughout the number. An angel that expels fire on a mirrored platform will hold court on stage, as well as black thorn-like trees with black poison ivy, and razor blade benches dripping in blood along the stage.
It’s a bit surprising to see such a provocative costume and performance on a “family show,” so perhaps parents might want to put their children to bed for this number.
“After looking at her costume, stage and production, it is easy to conclude a good chunk of change was spent on her performance,” the eyewitness continues.
This past Tuesday, Lady Gaga and her dancers rehearsed for three and a half hours for the taping on Wednesday. The performance will air on Wednesday, May 5 along with Harry Connick Jr. who is the Idols’ mentor of the week.
Lindsay Lohan needs to hire a new money manager – and fast!
Just a few weeks after she was deemed “broke,” the troubled starlet is now said to be over half a million dollars in debt.
“Lindsay owes credit cards $600,000,” a source told RadarOnline. “One card cut her off last week and it’s only a matter of time before all her other credit cards cut her off too.”
LiLo’s hard partying and dismal acting career are reportedly to blame for her lack of income. Her last film, “Labor Pains,” had one run on television before going straight to DVD.
Though she used to make a fair amount of money by doing club appearances, Radar reports that the 23-year-old hasn’t been receiving nearly as many invitations as she used to and is only being offered a reduced rate of $5,000 to $10,000.
“One credit card company is going to discuss a payment plan for Lindsay,” the source said. “But if she doesn’t have the income and can’t make her payments, they are prepared to sue her.”
Her landlord is said to have sent her a legal notice notifying her that she must pay her late rent, or else move out. As a result, Lohan reportedly paid the $23,000 she owed in order to avoid being homeless.
Taylor Swift is only 20 years old, but the country singer is sitting quite comfortably on her “Today Was A Fairytale” paychecks.
For 2009 alone, Taylor brought in $17.2 million of income alone. The figures have been released for the upcoming Sunday edition of Parade Magazine when the publication releases its annual “What People Earn” salary report.
Taylor, along with 18 other celebrities featured in the publication, made 450 times more money than the average people profiled in the magazine – wow!

The lovely British actress, Emma Watson who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films raked in some serious cash in 2009. According to a new Vanity Fair report, Watson earned more than any other female entertainer last year: $30 million, or $15 million for each Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies. In all, Watson ranked the #14th position of highest income in 2009, which will help her pay off her tuition, as she is currently a full time student at Brown University.
The Jonas Brothers added a new update for their fans on all of the new material that is coming out in the near future. Among other topics they made sure that they presented their upcoming 3D movie as a way to show one’s support. The boys mentioned in their blog:

Feel free to correct me, but does anyone else find that their 3D movie is a way to make more money and add another title on their resume?
