LA Times predicts that Taylor Swift‘s ‘Fearless’ will win the Grammy for RECORD OF THE YEAR! Grammy potential from LAT: And here, ladies and gentleman, is your 2010 front-runner for the Grammy album of the year. The country princess is not only the biggest star of the moment, she’s been embraced by the Recording Academy. Swift, remember, was the standout star of last year’s first-ever prime-time Grammy nominations special.
She also performed on the awards with Miley Cyrus, despite not having a nomination. Additionally, her ‘Fearless’ may very well end up the best-selling album of 2009, as well as the release with the most Grammy nominations. She has critics in her corner, including at least three from the Los Angeles Times, and her album has already spawned three hits. This is the year of the Swift.
Kanye West ’808s & Heartbreak’ Grammy potential: West would probably be considered a given here. Every album he has released has been nominated for the top prize and each, of course, has lost. One could make a case that they all should have won, especially in regards to the albums they were up against (yes, that is directed at the coffee-sipping compilation of tepid Ray Charles tunes that is ‘Genius Loves Company’ which won in 2005).
There’s been some chatter that ’808s’ may not be a sure thing, as it’s a departure for the artist, and its lead single, ‘Love Lockdown,’ was submitted and not nominated last year. Nonsense, this is as guaranteed an album of the year contender as there is in this eligibility period.

Now that the Grammy eligibility date, Aug. 31, has passed, it’s time to predict the nominees to be announced in November. The LA TIMES Grammy prophets David “Guru” Schnelwar and Darrin “DoubleD” Dortch agree on three of the five nominees for best new artist: Cobra Starship, Keri Hilson and the Zac Brown Band.
The best new artist award has been won in the past by such notable stars as Carrie Underwood, Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey and the Beatles, but it’s also been considered a curse on careers.
Demi Lovato is considered one of the front runners for Best New Artist against Cobra Starship, Drake,
Keri Hilson (if eligible), and Zac Brown Band. Other possibilities include: 3oh!3, Kid Cudi, Carolina Liar and Eric Hutchinson.
It’s interesting to find 3oh!3 and Demi Lovato bringing in more predictions than Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Are you happy with the prediction list?

Carrie Underwood performed her classic hit, ‘Last Name’ at the Grammys. Do you think having Miley and Taylor sing along to this song with her would have been better?

The Jonas Brothers are hosting an event at their Bel Air house as of 7pm but may still be going on. Cars are parked all the way down their narrow street and their gate is open (for once!) but there isn’t much of a good view inside. Pre-Grammy party perhaps?
Taylor Swift rocked the Grammy Nomination Concert last night in a sexy Jay Godfrey one-shoulder minidress with glittery Report Signature peep-toe heels and H Stern jewels. Did you watch?
