Alyson Machalka, Penn Badgley (“Gossip Girl”), Cam Gigandet (“Twilight”), and Amanda Bynes have all bee confirmed to star in the teen flick, “Easy A.”
The movie follows a high school student who is victimized by a false rumor that she lost her virginity, until she exploits the rumor mill for her own benefit and becomes wildly popular. Bynes has signed on to play a puritanical high school queen bee.
The film was written by playwright Bert V. Royal, who weaves the plight of “The Scarlet Letter” heroine Hester Prynne into a parallel storyline to what the “Easy A” protagonist endures. The comedy starts filming on June 9.
I’m really excited to see Alyson Michalka and Amanda Bynes together. I love everything the girls do acting wise, and I’m sure this film will be no different. Can’t wait! Does ‘Easy A’ seem like a movie you’d pay to watch in theaters?

Bandslam finally released their debut trailer for the movie due out this summer. The film stars talent such as Alyson Michalka and Vanessa Hudgens, and according to IMDB is about:
Teenager Will Burton lives in his head, and his head is filled with music. When his mother, Karen Burton, gets a new job in New Jersey, Will starts his junior year at a new school only to find the old cliques still apply, but rock-n-roll rules the scene. Perpetually a misfit, Will strikes up a friendship with like-minded outsider Sa5m (the 5 is silent). They are both surprised when the school’s “it” girl, Charlotte recruits Will to help assemble a band to compete in “Bandslam,” a battle of the bands that is “Texas High School Football BIG.” Charlotte’s ex-boyfriend Ben Wheatly is poised to win with his band Glory Dogs – Springsteen wannabes down to their hats. For the first time in his life, Will finds he is uniquely suited to not only participate in something, but to truly make a difference.

Vanessa Hudgens, who turns 20 on Sunday, treated herself to some grown up time in Napa Valley today, still without Zac Efron around. Why do we never see their couple’s time? Do they even spend time together anymore? Hmm…but outside of personal news for Baby V, Miss Vanessa will star alongside former “Friends” actress Lisa Kudrow and fellow Disney star Alyson Michalka in the movie “Bandslam,” which makes its way to theaters on July 31, 2009.
