British comedian Russell Brand and pop star Katy Perry will tie the knot in a fall ceremony off the coast of Maui this October, celebrity tattles tell The NY Post’s Page Six spies.
The quirky couple have kept the blogosphere guessing about the details surrounding their nups since Russell — an ex-sex addict — propsed to Katy after three months of dating during a trip to India last December. Despite previous rumors placing the weddings in Thailand, India, and Britain, snoops insists this scoop is solid.
Katy Perry got Russell Brand to propose to her by using telepathy.
The ‘California Gurls’ singer – who got engaged to the reformed hellraiser in December after a whirlwind romance – constantly ‘told’ the British comic star she wanted him to pop the question by using the power of her mind.
She explained: “I was trying to make him tell me that he wanted to marry me telepathically. Every night we looked into each other’s eyes and I was thinking, ‘Please ask me, please ask me.’
“Then, when we finally talked about the idea of getting married, he admitted he was thinking the same – he’d been trying to tell me that I was the woman he wanted to marry by communicating it with his eyes.
“So all the time we’d been sending each other subliminal messages!”
The 25-year-old pop star – who previously dated Gym Class Heroes lead vocalist Travis McCoy – also revealed she and Russell like to make up stories about their impending nuptials so their true wedding plans remain secret.
She told Britain’s Star magazine: “Russell makes up these really crazy stories about me and our wedding. I make up stories, too – I said he was a ‘groomzilla’. He said I farted a lot, but I’ve never farted in front of him – honestly!
“I hear these crazy stories – we are going to get married in latex, underwear, in Spandex, in Japan, in India, in Thailand. But I think all this craziness about my marriage is really funny.
“And I don’t set the record straight as I love this chaotic circus of wrong information, because it is not really anyone else’s business beside the people that we have invited and us, of course.”
Katy Perry is urging her fans to launch an online campaign to land her a role on the FOX musical series Glee after learning that her “California Gurls” co-star Snoop Dogg has reportedly already accepted a guest spot on the hit show.
Perry is desperate to land a spot on the all-singing all-dancing series — and after watching how successful a network of devoted Facebookers were in convincing Saturday Night Liveproducers to cast 88-year-old Betty White as a guest host last May, the singer is appealing to her fans to launch a similar campaign in hopes of persuading Glee chiefs to hire her.
“Please! I would love somebody to start that Facebook group and persuade them. I would absolutely love that,” Perry Tweeted over the weekend.
Katy Perry feared she would end in a “wheelchair” when Russell Brand proposed to her – because of a frightened elephant.
The ‘California Gurls’ singer says the British funnyman pulled out all the stops on the night they got engaged (31.12.09) but she was left worried for her safety by the combination of loud fireworks and a nervous elephant.
Katy – who said “I do” to Russell in Jaipur, India – recalled: “A horse and carriage took us to where we were going to eat: this tent made out of tens of thousands of roses. There were men holding fires on the pathway, under a blue moon… We then rode to another part of the hotel on a painted elephant and watched the fireworks. The elephant freaked out: he thought it was the apocalypse. So I was freaking out, thinking I was going to end up in a wheelchair at 25, because of an elephant. But we lived, and we went to another area that Russell had set up by these waterfalls. There was this balcony that had a love seat, and a bunch of flowers on a table. The ring was underneath them.”
The ‘California Gurls’ singer splashed out on a skin-tightening operation for her mother Mary Hudson, and her Christian pastor father Keith Hudson is so pleased with the results he has been bragging about how “amazing” his spouse looks.
Katy treated her mother to the operation in the run up to her own wedding to British funnyman Russell Brand which may or may not have already happened.

Katy Perry’s latest single ‘California Gurls’ has broken a US airplay record.
The song, which is currently at the top of both the US and UK singles charts, has received the most spins on radio over the course of a week ever.
Billboard reports that the track was played 11,816 times last week – an average of 90 plays per station.
The figure beats previous record holders Ke$ha and Lady GaGa, who take second and third position respectively with ‘Tik Tok’ and ‘Bad Romance’.
According to the UK midweek charts, Perry is on course for a second week at number one with the song.

Katy Perry slipped up some private information while on the BBC recently. The singer dished that she couldn’t go into her private life with Russell Brand too much as her mother-in-law was in the audience, but that it was never a dull moment with the actor, and that’s why she married him.
Quickly realizing what she said, she froze and tried to play it off. Leaving them with a quote, “Let’s keep the press guessing!”
The slip happens at .19 and .37. What do you think, accident, or accidental admittance?
It isn’t easy keeping a level head in Hollywood, but Katy Perry thinks part of the reason she lives a normal life is that she didn’t become famous until she was 23. Unlike child stars out there like Britney Spears, Perry had some time to grow up before she hit it big.
She told BBC Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright: “My first record didn’t take off until I was 23, so I was perhaps in a different headspace to someone who became successful at a younger age. If you’re starting at 14 or 15, your maturity hasn’t fully evolved.
“I’m not going to say I won’t mess up, because someday I might want to shave my head. But not today because I’ll get sunburn! I’m lucky because I have a great support system.”
The 25-year-old singer, who is engaged to British comic Russell Brand, also admitted she was glad she took the gamble of waiting for a record deal that suited her ambitions.
She explained: “I had a very strong vision and some record companies didn’t like that, but I waited for the right one and took a chance. I was lucky because it doesn’t always pay off.”
Katy Perry has revealed she is soccer widow – because fiance Russell Brand is so obsessed with the World Cup.
The couple got to spend a rare day off together yesterday (23.06.10) but huge soccer fan Russell was reluctant to go out because he wanted to watch England’s crucial match against Slovenia which they needed to win to progress in the tournament in South Africa.
She said in an interview with UK station BBC Radio 1: “It’s funny because he’s always there for me and we’re always there for each other, but yesterday we had a day off – he had a day off as well because he’s been busy promoting his movie (‘Get Him to the Greek’) – and the game was on yesterday and everybody in England, everywhere, was quiet, no one is on the street. We were watching the game and I was like messing with him saying, ‘Darling I really want to go outside.’ And he was so caught, he was like, ‘But the game, the game…’ But I knew I wasn’t gonna pull him away from that game. So I just took a nap.”
Katy says Russell is so engrossed in the tournament he stays up late most nights on the internet reading about the latest developments with the teams.
She added: “Everything is about football right now. It’s like, when I was with him last night he was up late watching football. And he was online reading all about it and it’s like, ‘How much can you read?’ “
