With ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ having their music video debut Monday, attention is back once again to Leighton Meester and her music! The Gossip Girl starlet has been keeping her album details under a tight wrap lately, but it seems as though others are not as hush hush. Jesse McCartney recently chatted of how he is helping write and be in the studio with the ‘gone bad’ singer.
Jive Records just reached out to me last week and they want me to write for David Archuleta’s new album. I’ve been writing with Toni Braxton and Leighton Meester, who’s been working on a record. It’s opened a lot of people’s eyes in the industry, too. It’s definitely a great feeling to be recognized and to be asked to work with their artists.
The two of them working together? It’s bound to be amazing!

Ok! Magazine was able to meet up with Jesse McCartney while he is on tour opening up for New Kids On The Block. They were able to chat about his album, life on the road, and life as a rock star!
On his favorite part of being a “rock star”: “The best part is being able to perform in front of the fans and watch them grow up over the years.”
On the worst part: The worst is having to do promotions and make appearances at TV stations. “I understand how that’s effective, but it can be gruesome and tiring,” he admits to OK!. “You get up at 8 in the morning, go to a radio station until 9 or 10, sing, do an interview or a meet and greet, then you go to sound check at 1 ad grab a bite at catering if you’re lucky. Then you can get ready for the show at 8 or 9 and get on the bus and go to the next city… If it wasn’t for that hour and a half performing live, I would probably be miserable.”
On what he brings with him on the road: “I usually bring my own pillow and different seasons of Dexter and Six Feet Under,” he says, adding that he listens to musicians like Adele (”She’s amazing) and “John Mayer, only because I grew up listening to him and I jammed with him in Australia. We ripped through an entire minibar of snacks and drinks and played guitar for two hours straight in his room.”

It seems as though PETA won’t be bff with Jesse McCartney after the singer recently admitted to trying monkey brains while on vacation in Asia.
Jesse commented, “It was a little chewy and a little bland. It could have been seasoned a little bit more to tell you the truth.”
PETA chiefs are far from impressed with the star’s adventurous appetite, and insist the singer should consider becoming a vegetarian.
Spokesman Michael McGraw says, “You’d have to be bananas to eat monkey flesh, or any meat.”
“When it comes to the ability to feel pain and suffer, a monkey is no different from chickens, cows and pigs. All animals deserve respect, which is why PETA promotes a vegetarian diet.”
I was a vegetarian for eight years, so I understand PETA’s point, but they can’t hate on every person who consumes meat. Lead by example, not through open letters! At least they haven’t thrown pigs blood on him…yet.

Jesse McCartney opened up to Extra, about his friendship with Chris Brown and how the current scandal wouldn’t prevent him from working with fellow singer.
“From what I’ve seen and from what I know of [Brown], he’s always been a gentleman. I’ve always known him as just a really nice guy. He’s always been supportive of me too. Even in the early years when he was on top and I was just building my way up. He’s always been really supportive…I think he’ll be okay.”
