Katy Perry has kept busy since her first major hit “I Kissed A Girl” hit mainstream airwaves last year. After the success of her album One of the Boys, her fans are itching to get their hands on new music from the raven-hair pop star.
Well, good news for those fans: according to MTV Perry is ready to get back to work. She’s even feeling inspired by some of her newest collaborators for her next project, likening her new vibe to that of fellow VMA-nominated band 3OH!3.”I know that after being on the road for about a year and half, what I’m missing is a little bit of that ‘Starstrukk’ flavor,” she told MTV News on the video set for “Starstrukk,” her new song with 3OH!3.
Her new music will eventually have “that beat, that movement a little bit,” Perry teased. “I want to make songs that people want to hold hands and roller-skate to.”
When we previously spoke to Perry about her Boys follow-up, she made it clear that she’s going in a new direction. “I definitely want to make a follow-up pop, fun record. I’m not looking to alienate my fans, but I can’t be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair all the time … because I’d kill myself or someone else would for me,” Perry laughed. “So I’m really excited to always be evolving, and changing; with my look, with my music, it keeps me entertained as well.”
LIGHTS, the Toronto singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist crafts her own brand of sparkling, otherworldly synth-pop thanks to her knack for the keytar and upbeat melodies. With songs that have already garnered a collective 15 million plays on Myspace, LIGHTS was also awarded the 2009 Juno (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy Award) for New Artist of the Year.
Her first full collection of music, The Listening, which drops October 6th via Warner Bros. Records, expands on her sound, which she calls “inter-galactic electro” and describes as “simple lyrics juxtaposed with sounds harvested from the far reaches of my alternate universe.” The album includes a few songs already familiar to die-hard LIGHTS fans, as well as plenty of new material including the first single, “Saviour,” a propulsive pop anthem that represents her charming musical essence.
In celebration of her forthcoming debut, fans can now exclusively stream her latest EP via Myspace. The Saviour EP, which features remixes from fellow Canadian upstarts, Colin Munroe and The Angry Kids, is also now available for purchase on iTunes here.

Before A Rocket To The Moon takes off on the 2009 OP Tour, they stopped by Old Navy where they fit right on in with their new mannequin friends. I wonder if they knew their friend in the pink scarf featured above, started off her career being featured in quite the video (see below).
Paramore’s lead singer, Hayley Williams showed MTV what her car back home looks like. Sweet ride!

3OH!3 was the fastest growing Facebook page this week, jumping from 481,000 to 746,000 fans over a few days last week. It’s assumed the fan base has always been present, however given the show rate of growth they has before and after the spikes, it’s assumed by this source it’s due to all of the unofficial pages for the group being limited by the official one.

From Hellogoodbye’s Myspace: A few days before our free ep will be available to mailing-list subscribers (sign up here), the video we shot for “when we first met” is going up on myspace video. the video is real special cause me and chelsea just got engaged (to each other!) and she was gracious enough to be cast as the leading lady in it. she doesn’t have any acting experience but she pretends to love me everyday so i thought it just might work. in the video we get hitched real quick and it was a good rehearsal so we don’t blow the real wedding. now i know not to let my hair grow out 3 feet while we kiss. it turns out that makes it look like a lesbian wedding. and also that im extremely unattractive with 3 foot long hair.
Miley Cyrus will appear in Sex and The City 2, according to Gossip Cop. The sixteen year old will appear in a scene where Miley wears the same dress to a red carpet event that Kim Cattrall’s character buys to look ‘hot and young.’
In the script, Mario Cantone’s character Anthony responds by exclaiming, ‘Mother of God: She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana.’ As of now the script doesn’t call for Miley to have any speaking lines.
